Who We AreThe Hernando Community Coalition (HCC) is a countywide behavioral health partnership working to prevent and reduce substance use and associated problems among youth and families in Hernando County, Florida.
The HCC is a research oriented, highly active 501c3 incorporated in 2004, governed by a Board of Directors and serves as the organizational unit in our community where prevention projects are shared, including participation from the 12 sectors identified by SAMHSA as needed for community change. Through the shared ownership of projects among partners, utilizing existing expertise from membership and resources available in the community, and using research-based approaches and best practices, the HCC partners/members are able to save costs and expand on current resources, rather than duplicating projects and services. The HCC membership is comprised of the Board of Directors, the General Membership, and sub-groups (Committees/Partnerships/Task Force) who work on issue specific objectives. Membership includes both individuals and those who represent their respective organizations, agencies, groups and businesses convene to leverage resources and knowledge. |
