You're Not Alone social norming program
HCC is implementing the You're Not Alone program in select schools.
You’re Not Alone is a universal approach to the prevention of mental health issues among children and teens. Rather than focusing on just the individual who is exhibiting signs of depression or anxiety, the program works to reach all youth in the target area. The program was designed to increase the likelihood that youth who are experiencing feelings of sadness, stress, anxiety, and so on, are comfortable reaching out for help. The program encourages youth to talk about their feelings before a mental health crisis occurs, or before turning to negative coping mechanisms such as substance use. At the same time, the program includes components that teach skills that reduce stress, encourage confidence, and promote self-care that all help to keep our minds and bodies healthy.
